Kent Denton
I am a preacher's son, raised in a Christian home. At a young age, I got married for all the wrong reasons and I turned my back on my Christian upbringing. I got into using alcohol, drugs and began riding with motorcycle riders. I had a beard, long hair and was engaged in riding with 2 motorcycle gangs.
I was invited to go to a revival where I heard a message entitled "Five Minutes Till Midnight". The main theme of the messages was if the Lord was coming back at midnight and I knew it, what in my life would I change? I didn't get saved that night but, I could not get that message out of my mind. A few weeks later, I began to cry and asked God's forgiveness for my sin and my lifestyle. I asked Jesus to save my soul and to show me what I needed to do with my life.
I sold my Harley Chopper, flushed the drugs down the drain, and poured all my alcohol down the sink. I married the girl I was living with and went to the Pastor of the church where I had heard the message and was baptized. Two years later, I felt the call to preach. That was in 1976, and I have been in the ministry now for 48 years.
